As time went on I visited many streams and rivers attempting to portray the energy. People have told me that these artworks do give them peace.

This large one, the Tao, is in six panels, most begun on site at the water’s edge. At the time I had a companion dog that kept me safe and comfortable no matter how isolated we were.

Tao means “road” or “way”. It’s followers aspire to a simple, spontaneous and meditative life, and search for knowledge of nature. A stream, with its constant motion, randomness of pattern, hidden area, changing surfaces and exquisite beauty is a metaphor for the life of an individual as they find and follow their path or way.

NOW THE OCEAN — MY PEACEFUL PLACE - THIS QUOTE SAYS IT ALL…

“I really don't know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea… I think it’s because we all came from the sea. It is an interesting biological fact that all of us have, in our veins, the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea ……..we are going back from whence we came."  quote by John F. Kennedy
